The Ana Tellez Memorial Scholarship Selection Board is made up of family representatives and a board of directors—individuals who knew Ana, share her values, and are committed to carrying her legacy forward. Each member brings a unique perspective to the Board—whether that be education or community leadership. To maintain balance in the decision-making process, family representation is structured so that each couple from the family representatives collectively casts one vote, ensuring no single family member can exert disproportionate influence over the selection. Together, the family representatives and board of directors review every application with great care and integrity and select the recipient who best reflects the values Ana lived by: character, resilience, and a heart for service.
Note: To ensure fairness, all board members are required to disclose any personal relationships with applicants and recuse themselves if necessary. Additionally, members of the Tellez family are ineligible to receive the scholarship.
